<p>Devo confessar que Jono Bacon me pegou de surpresa, ao acompanhar o processo de criação do livro jamais imaginei que teria em mãos um material tão útil para quem lida com comunidades virtuais no dia a dia. Jono é figurinha marcada dentro deste mundo, com vasta experiência em gerenciar e participar de comunidades virtuais, o que faz dele realmente um excelente candidato a escrever um livro como este.</p>
<p>Um livro sobre como gerenciar e conviver com comunidades virtuais tem tudo para ser um livro chato e cheio de “faça”, “não faça”, o que seria um livro extremamente repetitivo e nada agradável. Porém Jono demonstra seu entendimento dos meios de comunicação (fundamento de qualquer comunidade) já em sua introdução, onde apresenta sua estratégia de narrativa do livro: <em>usar experiências pessoais</em>. Partindo desta premissa o autor segue por todo o livro apresentando um novo conceito ou estratégia e logo em seguida exemplificando isto com um exemplo real de pessoas reais de suas experiências em diversas comunidades. Esta estratégia torna a leitura do livro muito agradável e fácil, ótimo para ocupar aqueles momentos em que esta em algum lugar esperando por alguém ou na fila de um banco. (Procure a versão digital se possuir um Kindle!)</p>
<p>O livro é extremamente amplo e válido para diversos papeis dentro da comunidade, desde os gerentes até os membros, voluntários e o desenvolvedor comum de produtos Open Source. Cada patamar de uma comunidade pode facilmente se beneficiar do conteúdo deste livro e inclusive pessoas que utilizam a comunidade como profissionais de marketing e ativistas que precisam aprender como se comunicar e conquistar as comunidades. Cada capitulo se aprofunda em um assunto fundamental, como comunicação, gerando agitação, medir e mensurar sua comunidade, eventos e administração de conflitos.</p>
<p>Quem já coordenou uma comunidade e olhar este índice com certeza irá instantaneamente lembrar de diversos momentos de sua vivência, eu sei que eu com certeza me identifiquei em diversos momentos, desde a minha motivação para participar da comunidade PHP até os conflitos e também na área de contribuição com código open source.</p>
<p>Geralmente eu gosto de dar detalhes de cada capitulo do livro quando escrevo reviews como este, mas neste acaso me sinto como se eu estaria roubando de sua experiência e da forma maravilhosa como Jono narra eventos e conceitos.</p>
<p>Concluindo eu diria que se você tem qualquer envolvimento com uma comunidade virtual, seja como gerente ou membro ou como alguém que interage com elas, este livro deve estar em sua estante, compre, leia, se divirta ao mesmo tempo e aprenda como levar sua comunidade para um próximo patamar.</p>
